Ship Wreckers Myanmar
by Min Myo Nyan Win
These images were taken at a privately-owned work site where wrecked ships are dismantled and mended in Dala Township, in Myanmar.  The owner buys wrecked ships and extracts the usable materials for resale.  Timbers may be reused for making furniture or building houses for example. The average wage of the workers is just $4 US.  There are no health and safety restrictions or guidelines and if workers are injured, there is no compensation or insurance.
