Kolkata is the cultural capital of India.  As the former capital of India, Kolkata has long been known for its literary, artistic and revolutionary heritage. Kolkatans tend to have a special appreciation for art and literature and their tradition of welcoming new talent has made Kolkata a "city of furious creative energy".   While Mumbai is the capital of commercial movies in India, Kolkata is the home of art-house films. Stalwarts like Satyajit Ray, Ritwik Ghatak, Mrinal Sen, Aparna Sen, Budhdhadeb Dasgupta, Gautam Ghose, Rituparno Ghosh are the pride of Kolkata. Kolkata Film Festival, held annually in the city, feeds the love of the Kolkatan people for cinema from all over the world.   The influence of movies is clearly visible through the numerous posters and billboards which adorn the streets. Every poster tells another story altogether. Film posters are a form of art but they are often forgotten. This year, Indian Cinema is 100 years old, so here is my little tribute to Indian Cinema.
