Stephen Fry. British actor, writer and film maker
by Derry Moore
Derry Moore first began photographing India in the 1970s, interested in documenting
the lingering hybrid aesthetics of a country caught between two worlds. His carefully
selected photographs of architecture, interiors and landscapes, highlight the unique
visual culture and aesthetics produced in the cultural encounter between the
coloniser and the colonised, in a unique atmosphere of a country that seemed
suspended in a time before the homogenising tide of globalisation.
