Damian Bird (born London, 1972) is a photographer, photojournalist and lecturer with
many years of experience, working in war zones and trouble spots around the globe.
He was educated in Photography at the Surrey College of Art and Design and at the
London College of Communication where he studied for a post graduate degree in
Photojournalism.
In 2011 he founded Life Force magazine with his business partner and wife of 15 years,
Alice. As well as Editing Life Force magazine, he is currently engaged in photographing
a series of photo-essays on English culture and has recently returned to Afghanistan.
His first book Seabird was released in November 2017. He continues to have his work
published in national and international newspapers and magazines including The Times, the Telegraph, the Express, the
Observer, GQ, Esquire, Daily Mail, Dazed & Confused,The Face, Country Life, Coast and Geographical magazine.
He lives in Devon, England with his wife, four children and his dachshund, Jessie.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, the daughter of an American journalist, San
Francisco-based, National Geographic photographer, Catherine Karnow, seems
destined to have travel and photojournalism at the center of her life. She graduated
Brown University with honors degrees in Comparative Literature and Semiotics.
Catherine has covered Australian Aborigines; Bombay film stars; Greenwich high
society; Agent Orange victims; Indian royalty; and farmers around the world. In
1994, she was the only non-Vietnamese photo-journalist to accompany General
Giap on his historic first return to the forest encampment in the northern Vietnam
highlands from which he plotted the battle of Dien Bien Phu. She also gained

Twice the recipient of Guggenheim Fellowships (1982 and 1991) and a New York
State Council for the Arts Fellowship (1973), Mr. Roma's work has appeared in
oneperson and group exhibitions internationally, including one-person shows with
accompanying books at the Museum of Modern Art NY and the International Center
of Photography. In 2003 he received a New York City Council Proclamation for
contributions to the cultural and educational life of New York City and in 2011 the
Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
He has published fourteen monographs including: Come Sunday (with an
introduction by Henry Louis Gates, Jr.), Found in Brooklyn (with an introduction by

Major twentieth-century photographer Willy Ronis (1910–2009) was featured in
MoMA’s exhibitions The Family of Man (1955), Postwar European Photography
(1953) and Five French Photographers (1951–52). His photographs appeared in
Life, Vogue and Time; he received many awards, including the Venice Biennale Gold
Medal, the Grand Prix des Arts et Lettres and the Prix Nadar.

Laurence Stephens is a British documentary photographer. Inspired by colour
photographers of the 1980s, his approach is anthropological, exploring aspects of
modern life with a satirical eye.
Sarah Michelle Riisager

Sarah Michelle Riisager (b. 1990) is a Danish artist working in the field of
photography, video and sculpture. From 2011 to 2013 she studied at Fatamorgana,
The Danish School of Art Photography where her camera became a way for her to
deal with the sorrow of losing her father shortly before. After graduating she moved
to Scotland to study Fine Art Photography at the Glasgow School of Art for three
years. Since she has produced and been a part of 16 bigger exhibitions both in
Denmark and abroad. Sarah’s work has been exhibited in Copenhagen (DK),
Glasgow (UK), New York (US), Pingyao (CHN), Krakow (PL) and Arles (FR). In the
summer of 2016 when she moved back to Copenhagen she was chosen to be part
of the exhibition ‘Young Danish Photography’ at The Centre of Photography and ‘The

Dipayan Bose is a Kolkata based documentary and street photographer. After
completing his graduation, he started photography as a profession. He has worked
as a freelance photographer under many organizations. Now he is a photography
lecturer in ICAT DESIGN & MEDIA College, Chennai. According to him,
Documenting human life, social issues, and environmental stories through
photography is not only a documentation process but also it’s a proof of a time or
incident. So it’s a responsibility to keep the truth through the lens for future
references.

2015; Catherine was also profiled in a PBS documentary about art in Vietnam. Her book of the same name is available at

international publications.
Catherine's passion for photography carries into her love for teaching. She has taught the National Geographic Weekend
Workshops in San Francisco, as well as her own workshops in the Bay Area. She also gives private workshops and teaching
seminars all over the world, for a myriad of private, corporate and editorial clients, as well as her own Signature Photo
Workshops in Umbria in May, Vietnam-Cambodia in October and South India in February.

In 2010, the Wallach Gallery at Columbia University exhibited his work and published Pictures for Books, a catalogue
including work from four of his series. The show traveled to Tulane University’s Newcomb Gallery in New Orleans in 2011.
He has taught photography since 1983 at Yale, Fordham, Cooper Union, and The School of Visual Arts and in 1996 became
the Director of the Photography Program at Columbia University School of the Arts where he is a Professor of Art. His work
is in numerous collections, including The Museum of Modern Art, New York, The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art,
The Art Institute of Chicago, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and The Canadian Center for Architecture, Montreal.
He was also a founding contributing photographer to DoubleTake Magazine. Mr. Roma lives in Brooklyn with his wife Anna.

Robert Dawson

Robert Dawson is an author, photographer and university educator. His photographs
have recently been recognized by a Fellowship from the Guggenheim Foundation,
an Artists Grant from the Graham Foundation and an Artists Grant from the Creative
Work Fund. Earlier awards include a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship
and a Dorothea Lange-Paul Taylor Prize. His books include Robert Dawson
Photographs (Min Gallery, 1988); The Great Central Valley: California’s Heartland
(University of California Press, 1993), Farewell, Promised Land: Waking from the
California Dream (University of California Press, 1999) and A Doubtful River
(University of Nevada Press, 2000). His latest book The Public Library A
Photographic Essay (Princeton Architectural Press, 2014) included a forward by Bill
Moyers and an afterword by Ann Patchett. In 2015 the Library of Congress
purchased this entire project for their permanent archive. Dawson’s photographs are
also in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; the National Museum of American Art (Smithsonian
Institution); and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. He received his B.A. from the University of California at Santa
Cruz and his M.A. from San Francisco State University. He has been an Instructor of Photography at San Jose State
University since 1986 (now retired) and an Instructor of Photography at Stanford University since 1996.

Nivedita Dutta is born in Kolkata, West Bengal India in 1981. The urge to see, learn,
explore and appreciate life motivated her to hit the streets with her camera sometime
in 2010. She entered the world of professional photography slowly, starting off with
wedding and table-top assignments. Now, proficient with various advanced gadgets
and related software's, she has a keen interest for both custom and creative
photography. Added to this is her high energy level, the determination to conquer the
unconquered peaks and an undaunting attitude. She has won several national and
international accolades, not to forget, she is also a certified AFIAP from
FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE L’ART PHOTOGRAPHIQUE. She is associated with
several reputed brands in the industry and also a part of many photography forums
of high repute. With the camera as her companion, she thoroughly cherishes the never ending journey of life, never
missing a chance to reach far off places to document the rare and unseen human activities or events. All say, she doesn't
do different things, she does things differently, One can still hear her hum this line - "Many miles to go before I sleep."

My name is Laurent Garcia, I'm 50 years old, I practice self-taught photography for
many years. For the past ten years, I have been focusing on documentary
photography, in black and white.
I am currently working on pastoralism and rurality and an exhibition on this theme
will be launched in the autumn
