Jinzhou North East China
by Phillip Jenkins
Jinzhou is China's northernmost seaport, located in Liaoning province, North East China. Jinzhou is an old industrial city with dark, grim and very cold winters. The air in the city is always hazy and heavy with pollution from the many factories and coal burning power plants. Life in Jinzhou appears very hard and people seem to suffer a lot. The city is poor with many factories being closed down and is full of laid-off factory and migrant workers. In Shanghai and other cities along the east coast, we see hope and development; while in Jinzhou we can only see depression and hardship.
