Most of these photographs of London’s Gay Pride Parade were taken at this year’s event on 26th June, with a few
additional images from 2013 and 2009. Over that six year period the event has grown enormously....in 2009 it started
with a dance in Hyde Park and then meandered innocently along Piccadilly to Trafalgar Square. This year, with the
Tunisian atrocity just a few days old, security was much tighter and the much larger parade became a stop-start affair,
no doubt for the best of reasons. This time a press pass gave me freedom to move among the parade and my abiding
memory is of the overriding sense of fun and of a street audience who were there to give their affectionate support to
every last Gay Prider.
