My career as a San Francisco based freelance photographer began in 1975 as an
intern to Crawford Barton, who was then the staff photographer for Advocate
Magazine. I also worked in Harvey Milk's camera store in the heart of the burgeoning
lesbian gay bisexual transgender mecca in the Castro district and I was also
involved in Milk's victorious election to public office as one of the first openly gay
elected officials in the world. Crawford and Harvey and many others along the way
instilled in me a great love of photography as a tool for recording history in the
making. My photographic work maps my enduring romance with San Francisco and
its's people, especially the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities.

André Lützen, born in 1963 in Hamburg, studied visual communication at the
Hochschule für bildende Künste Hamburg (Academy of fine arts) and at the
International Center of Photography New York. André Lützen has received various
awards for his work. His photographs have been exhibited in numerous museums
and festivals, including Haus der Photographie/Deichtorhallen, Hamburg; Krefelder
Kunstmuseen; Hamburger Kunsthalle; Noorderlicht Photo Gallery Groningen; the
New York Photo Festival; Photo España; and the photo festival “Les Boutographies”
in Montpellier. He taught photography at the Muthesius Hochschule in Kiel and the
Folkwang Hochschule in Essen. His photography has been published in several
monographs: Generation Boul Fale (2001), Loch im Kopf (2005), Before Elvis there
was nothing (2008), Public Private Hanoi (2010), Zhili Byli (2014) und Inside Out
Kochi (2015). André Lützen is represented by the Robert Morat Gallery, Berlin und
the agency laif.
Damian Bird

Damian Bird, is a photographer and photojournalist with many years of experience,
working in war zones and trouble spots around the globe. He was educated in
Photography at the Surrey College of Art and Design and at the London College of
Communication where he studied for a post graduate degree in Photojournalism.
In 2011 he founded Life Force magazine with his business partner and wife of 14 years,
Alice. As well as Editing Life Force magazine, he is currently engaged in photographing
a series of photo-essays on English culture and has recently returned to Afghanistan.
He continues to have his work published in national and international newspapers and
magazines including The Times, the Telegraph, the Express, the Observer, GQ, Esquire,
Dazed & Confused,The Face, Country Life and Geographical magazine.
Sarina Finkelstein

Sarina Finkelstein was born in Columbia, MO. She received her BFA in Photography
from Washington University in Saint Louis, MO and her MFA in Photography from the
School of Visual Arts in New York.
Finkelstein’s monograph with publisher Kehrer Verlag, The New Forty-Niners, is an
exploration of modern-day gold prospectors in California which was a 2014 Photo
District News' Photo Annual Winner in the Books category and appeared
internationally on BBC TV, in Io Donna and Euroman, and in online galleries with
Esquire, Slate, WIRED Raw File, Business Insider, Next Avenue, Daily Mail and
Bullion Magazine. Her work has also been featured in Smithsonian Magazine, the
London Telegraph's Sunday magazine, SEVEN, Italian Amica and German Fluter
and online on New York Times’ Lens, TIME, NPR, Discover Magazine’s Visual Science, PDN's Photo of the Day, Feature
Shoot, LensCulture and Conscientious photo blogs.
Finkelstein was a 2010 Critical Mass Finalist and participant in Review Santa Fe and a speaker and award recipient at the
Society for Photographic Education National Conference. She has exhibited in solo shows at RayKo Photo Center in San
Francisco, Newspace Center for Photography in Portland, OR. She lives in Brooklyn, New York, with her husband and
fellow photographer, David Leventi.

doors were open. During those years my emphasis on portraiture took root. I became intrigued by what occurs when the
sitter's environment is minimized in a studio context where collaborators simply rely upon what the sitter is wearing and
the nuances of expression and body language to distill a mutual sense of purpose. It is a privilege and a joy to be the
conduit for those moments when a sitter's soul reveals itself for all to see in a photograph.
My work has been featured in numerous books, periodicals, films and collections.

Florian Geiss

While great moments can appear just as suddenly as they disappear, photographer
Florian Geiss captures these fleeting moments so they live forever.
Geiss' images impress a rooted involvement in the genuine atmosphere of his large
body of work and through capturing these great moments and intimate interactions
between subjects in complex settings, he has become an immensely sought after
photographer and director.
Florian is deeply skilled in connecting the subjects in front of his camera and
capturing them in a cinematic style when the perfect moment of emotion, action, light

With years of experience incorporating action in his still work, Florian has made the natural progression into shooting films
as well, often alongside his still work.
After studying photography and film in Bielefeld in his native Germany, Geiss relocated to Hamburg to open his
photography studio, where he is still currently based. However his projects take him and his talented team across the
globe. While his impressive client list is a true evidence for his outstanding skills, his numerous international accolades and
memberships in the Art Directors Club, BFF and AOP als speak very highly of his work.
Tom Atwood

Tom Atwood has shot over 100 luminaries such as Hilary Swank, Buzz Aldrin and
John Waters.
He won Photographer of the Year from London's Worldwide Photography Gala
Awards, first place in Portraiture in the Prix de la Photographie Paris and has won
over 30 other awards. Atwood's work has exhibited at the Museum of Photographic
Arts, the George Eastman Museum, the Center for Fine Art Photography and several
other institutions. His work exhibits at various galleries, most recently ClampArt,
Steven Kasher, Louis Stern and PDNB.
Atwood's work has been featured in over 150 publications including The New York
Times, Los Angeles Times, New Yorker, Art Newspaper, Elle and PDN. And he has
appeared on Sirius, CBS and other networks.
Atwood has a Bachelors from Harvard and a Masters from Cambridge (England).
Michal Iwanowski

Michal Iwanowski is a Cardiff-based, Polish born photographer and a Ffotogallery
tutor.
He studied Documentary Photography at the University of Wales, Newport,
graduating in 2008.
Iwanowski’s work explores the relationship between landscape and memory, looking
for histories, individuals and traces about to fade.
Jory Hull

American, b. 1971, New London, New Hampshire, based in the Southeastern United
States.
Engaged in commercial design and advertising work, commissioned projects, and
his own photography, painting, and collage, Jory Hull creates images informed by a
keen eye for telling details and formal qualities. Having studied painting and
photography simultaneously, Hull knows how to make the familiar appear abstract
and the everyday seem strange and remarkable. In his photography projects, Hull
has captured documentary, black-and-white images of an Alaskan salmon-processing plant; evocative, poetic views of sky
over land from an airplane window; and the sleek exteriors and complex interiors of vintage racecars, which he abstracts
into symphonies of bright color, shapes, and contours.

Andrea Künzig is a photographer based in Berlin. She has lived and worked in
various countries in Africa and Asia. One of her latest projects has been
documenting People of Turkey, while living for 4 years in Istanbul.
Andrea received her degree in Political Science at the Free University Berlin. In
1994 she went to Jerusalem do document the Israeli-Palestinian situation between
Peace efforts and conflicts.
This was followed by long stays in Israel, the Arab world and in Kenya. Much later,
she attended a professional class in Photograpy by Prof.Arno Fischer in Berlin from
2001 to 2004.
Andrea undertakes documentary photo projects worldwide, focusing on political,
social and humanitarian themes. Her clients are distinguished magazines and newspapers, including GEO, The National
Geographic Traveller, Deutsche Welle, Focus and DIE ZEIT as well as NGOs, such as the German Foundation for World
Population, SOS Children’s Village, Terre des Femmes and UNDP. Andrea has been presented in numerous exhibitions and
for GEO Magazine she has been working in Kenya for the last 19 years on the long-term project ‘Basic Needs’:
“How does a child lives in Africa?”

Naudé was born in 1984 in Cape Town, where he continues to live. He graduated
with a BA Visual Arts Honours degree from the University of Stellenbosch in 2007.
Naudé has had solo exhibitions at Stevenson Cape Town and Johannesburg (2011,
2010 and 2014) and showed selected photographs from Animal Farm in the print
room at The Photographers’ Gallery in London in 2013. Group shows include

Ursula Sprecher & Andi Cortellini

Ursula Sprecher (Basel, 1970) and Andi Cortellini (Basel, 1965) currently live and
work in Basel, Switzerland. Both did a apprenticeship at a studio for photography
accompanying the school for art and design in Basel/ Switzerland.
They have been collaborating on the HobbyBuddies series since almost ten years.
The series has received numerous awards and has been exhibited at Scope Art Fair,
Miami; Photoforum PasquArt, Switzerland; Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie,
Deichtorhallen Hamburg, and Kunsthalle Memmingen, in Germany; and other
venues. The work is part of the permanent exhibiton of the Museum of the Cultures
in basel, Switzerland. The series has been featured in many magazines, such as
GEO, Chrismon, NZZ, Independent on Sunday, Stern, Photo International, Red Bull
Magazine, and many others. This work also has been published in numerous internetblogs around the world.

Tito Mouraz

Tito Mouraz, 1977, Portugal.
He finished the Visual Arts and Photography course in the Superior Art School of
Oporto (Escola Superior Artística do Porto) in 2010, being this the city where he lives
and works currently. Exhibits regularly since 2009 in Portugal and abroad. Some of
the most significant exhibitions have taken place at Módulo Gallery (Lisbon); Format
International Photography Festival (UK); Blanca Berlin Gallery (Spain); Museu da
Imagem (Portugal); Fotofestiwal Lodz (Poland); Festival Circulation(s), Paris
(France); Carpe Diem Arte e Pesquisa (Lisbon) and Encontros da Imagem, Braga
(Portugal).
Winner in 2013 of The Emergentes DST International Photography Award and the

Beth Yarnelle Edwards

Since 1997 San Francisco-based photographer Beth Yarnelle Edwards has been
photographing people in their homes. Beginning in the Silicon Valley suburbs, she
has also worked by invitation in five European countries. Her photographs have
been exhibited and published extensively in the U.S. and Europe, and she has been
the subject of solo museum exhibitions at Château d’Eau in
Toulouse, France; the Musée de la Photographie à Charleroi, Belgium; The Oakland
Museum of California; and the Reykjavik Museum of Photography in Iceland. The
winner of CENTER's 1999 Photography Project Competition, Edwards' work can be
found in the collections of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, LACMA, the
Museum of Fine Arts in Houston, and many other European and American
institutions. Edwards’ first monograph, Suburban Dreams, was published by Kehrer
Verlag in 2011. She is represented by Robert Klein Gallery, Boston, and Galerie f5,6
in Munich, Germany. Edwards received her MFA from San Jose State University in 1998.
Edwards is currently rephotographing the people in Suburban Dreams. In some cases, more than twenty years have
passed since the original photograph was made.
