White Supremacy .

In this new age of heightened immigration tensions, an on-going war in the Middle East that is overly disconnected from its citizenry and a nation led for the first time by a black President, white supremacy in the United States has vastly transformed from its beginnings as a macabre, fireside dance performed by white men in sheets.  The White Nationalist movement has developed and assimilated becoming distinctly and comfortably ‘American,’ complete with pot-luck gatherings, Tea Party flags, road-trips to Las Vegas and, possibly most  American of all, almost universally exercising their right to bear arms. The National Socialist Movement is overtly militaristic in its activities, ranging from anti-immigration protests, hate rallies and, at its aggressive pinnacle, armed patrols along the U.S. border with Mexico.  Patrols are held in cooperation with other armed and well-organized groups including state militias in a union they dub, ‘The Coalition of the Willing.’ The following reportage is the photographic documentation of members of the National Socialist Movement in the United States over the course of one year.  The photographs were taken in places one might least expect to encounter Neo-Nazis so openly: Los Angeles, New Jersey, Las Vegas, and ‘protecting’ the border between the U.S. and Mexico.
