The following pictures show the Indian gypsies, also known as the Kalbelia, who I met on my travels to Pushkar in
November 2014 and to Jaisalmer, Rajasthan in February 2015. The Sinti and Roma in Europe have their origins in
India.
As in Europe, the gypsies in India have a very low social status. "Time of the Gypsies" is dedicated to the children of
the Kalbelia whose social situation and spiritual condition have become etched on my memory.
