Falash Mura: from Gondar to Tel Aviv
by Michal Fattal/Flash90
The story follows one of the last groups of Falash-Mura, from the compound in Gondar (North Ethiopia) all the way to their landing in Israel and to the Absorption center in Jerusalem. The Israeli government decided to put an end to the immigration of the Falash-Mura community to Israel. They are considered as non-Jews, who just wanted to get out of Ethiopia by any means and saw the opportunity by claiming to be Jewish. Thousands of Ethiopian Israelis keep on protesting furiously against the government's decision as 8,700 Falash-Mura still remain in rundown camps in Ethiopia.
