greenhouses in cities across Europe
Samuel Zeller’s photographs reveal a rare serenity found at the heart of some of
Europe’s most popular cities. Shot in botanical gardens in Paris, Geneva, Edinburgh,
Prague and many more, these fascinating images of plants seen through translucent
glass echo a blurred beauty reminiscent of Impressionist paintings.
Zeller travelled to over 25 cities whilst shooting the series. His resulting images, now
a curated edit in book form, draw on classic botanical illustrations from the 19th
century and show nature in a new and contemporary way.
