Crow Country Montana
In August 2010, Delphine Diallo travelled to Crow country, Southern Montana, the homeland of the Crow tribe.  The Crows speak their own unique language and occupy almost 3,606.54 square miles of land, making theirs the largest of seven Indian reservations in the state.  Delphine’s trip opened her eyes to a completely new world in which she found a progressive new resistance to Western culture and the revival of traditions and rituals. Delphine was amazed by the Crows’ hospitality and their kindness, a very different experience from the negative image of Native Americans often broadcasted by media.  She was drawn, not only to capture their spirituality and the symbolism of their dances, but also to portray their strong family bonds.
