John Alinder
John Alinder, son of a farmer, was born in 1878 in the village of Sävasta, Altuna
parish, in Uppland, a province in eastern central Sweden. Alinder remained in the
village all his life. He chose not to take over his parents’ farm and instead became a
self-taught photographer and jack of all trades. He was a music lover, holder of the
Swedish agency for the British record label and gramophone brand His
Master’s Voice. For a time he ran a rural shop from his home, and he even operated an
illicit bar for a while. From the 1910s to the 1930s he portrayed the local people, the
landscape around them and their way of life. He often photographed them in their
homes and gardens, using the technology of the time, glass plates.
These he developed in a small darkroom he had built and then made the prints in the
sunlight. The Alinder collection was “discovered” in the 1980s when a curator found
over 8,000 glass plates stacked away in a library basement. Children placed on chairs,
people perched in trees, labourers, confirmation candidates and old ladies; often
depicted against a background of foliage and sprawling greenery penetrated by sunlight.
Alinder’s portraiture allows for the magic of chance, both liberating and defining the
subjects.

After obtaining a master’s degree with honours in photography from University of the
Arts London, Arianne Clément travelled far and wide to find inspiration, often getting
involved in humanitarian projects with the marginalized, her preferred subjects. She
now devotes her work principally to portraying the elderly. Her celebrated portraits of
seniors have been exhibited nationally and internationally, and won her several
prizes, grants and honours. What these distinctions reflect first and foremost is the
sensitivity and boldness of her work and the unique connection she manages to
create with her models.
Her pictures and stories have been published in major newspapers and prestigious
journals all around the world and her work has been met with enthusiastic response
online, creating a buzz in social media.
Born in Dorset, England in 2004, Ethan Bird is currently studying for a BA degree in
Photography.
Caleb Stein (b. 1994, London) graduated from Vassar College in 2017 with a degree in history of art. His work explores the
fragility of memory through an embrace of community and the dynamic, energetic interactions that occur within it. Questions
surrounding mythology and narrative as they relate to the United States and the international influence it exerts sit at the
core of much of Stein’s work, as he grapples with his relationship to the country that has become his adopted home.
Stein’s work embraces the lyrical potential of photography; his work often contains a tension between the poetic and the
emotionally confrontational.
Years ago, the desire to learn, explore, perceive and appreciate life envisioned upon

proficiency with various advanced gadgets and related software. As my unending
thirst catapulted me and assigned a feather on my lens with the distinction of EFIP
and AFIAP. Awards and medals includes “Photographer of the Year” Award at Paris

Magazine, 121clicks and more. A keen interest for both custom and creative shades, projected me at event
photography with an association at my own company. Coupled with a zest for life and with the camera as my better
half, I am now predominantly engaged in Street Photography as my stock-in-trade. Like a kaleidoscopic view, I hope
to capture life's piquant narratives and shades on every alley and streets through the countenance of its occupants,
so as to tell a tale and narrate the facade of actual life. People say I do things differently. Well! I gladly second them.
I thoroughly cherish the never ending waves of life. "There are many miles to tread before I resort to my slumber!”
