by Julian Bound

Resting on the Nepal borderlands with Tibet, the Nepalese village of Jethal sits beneath the snow capped peaks of the Langtan and Gaurishankar mountains of the Himalaya. Severely damaged in the Nepal earthquakes of 25th April and 12th May 2015, this is Jethal’s story of relief and recovery which led to the rebuilding of an entire village, the reconstruction of four schools and the building of a new school and medical health post. Taken over a period of eighteen months ‘Jethal Village of Recovery’ is a photographic account of Jethal’s renewal assisted by the Nepal NGO Himalayan Aid, the Singapore Red Cross, Germany’s UKALO organisation, the Romanian Mountain Club and the international volunteers who gave their time and energy to help the people of Jethal village, Sindhupalchowk, Nepal.
