Work
by Fabien Dupoux
A free, really high quality photo-essay magazine.  Fabulous! Stephen Fry. British actor, writer and film & documentary maker
I have always been intrigued by workers.  It is a world in which man is used as raw material.  From the Middle Ages and on through the Industrial revolution, nothing has changed.   I see in the faces of this labor, a vulnerable body, sweat and physical exhaustion.  Most of the time these scenes are not invisible or are ignored, but it is a reality shared in all the workplaces where manual labor dictates the daily routines of the many.  Timeless.  Identical.  It is the pure exploitation of labor. Hard. Cruel. Unjust and often without mercy.  In many situations, it is in opposition to nature and ourselves.  Man is a wolf to man.  It is a product of our consumer society.  A cruel reality.  Uncompromising and unforgiving.
