Peregrine Trophy
Each year, the Royal Navy rewards it's most talented photographers at the annual Peregrine Trophy Awards in London. The Trophy recognises the dedication and creativity of RN Photographers deployed on warships and commando units around the world. Sailors who chose photography as their 'trade' are expected to train hard before they are finally accepted into the elite photographic branch.  Those select few then work with the Royal Navy and Royal Marines on deployments anywhere in the world, from Antarctica to Afghanistan and from the UK to the Far East, taking pictures of maritime operations, personnel at work and all other aspects of Service life. The very best of these images are showcased at the prestigious Peregrine Trophy awards, this year held at the Royal College of Art in London in July.  Winners were congratulated by the First Sea Lord Admiral Sir George Zambellas. Here are a selected few of the Winning and Highly Commended images.
