October 31 2012. Queens, NY, USA: Families filled containers of water with fire hydrants in Far Rockaway
Wednesday afternoon two days after Hurricane Sandy crippled the region.
October 30 2012. Queens, NY, USA: One day after Hurricane Sandy hit New York City extensive damage and
flooding was apparent throughout the region. Hurricane Sandy caused major flooding and fires which burned nearly
a hundred homes in Breezy Point Queens Monday night. An off duty FDNY firefighter (yellow coat) sifts through the
wreckage of his home looking for his wires wedding ring.
October 30 2012. Brooklyn, NY, USA: Coney Island was covered in debris from the flood waters early Tuesday
morning.

October 30 2012. Brooklyn, NY, USA: The subway station and surrounding neighborhood in Brighton beach
Brooklyn were covered in mud and other debris after flood waters from the Atlantic Ocean covered the streets
Monday night.
October 30 2012. Queens, NY, USA: Firefighters worked on a fire on Rockaway Beach Blvd which burned a row of
buildings after storm surge covered the neighborhood in the Rockaway section of Queens in almost 5 feet of water
from Hurricane Sandy.
October 30, 2012- Queens, NY, USA: Firefighters worked on a fire on 130th Streeet in Bell Harbor, Queens which
burned a an entire block of houses after a storm surge.
October 30 2012. Queens, NY, USA: A subway station that was drying out in the Rockaway section of Queens in
almost 5 feet of water from Hurricane Sandy.
October 28 2012. Long Beach, NY, USA: Much of the North East prepares for a a giant storm that is approaching
early Monday morning.
November 16 2012. Brooklyn, NY, USA: Private Gated communities like Sea Gate are having difficulties receiving
financial aid for repairs to the worst hit spots. Photographs and paintings were among the debris found along the
beach in Sea Gate.
November 7 2012. Brooklyn NY, USA: Snow began to fall in New York City Wednesday afternoon as a second storm
is scheduled to hit the city. A man carrying gas cans was turned away from a Greenpoint gas station.
November 2 2012. New York, NY, USA: The South ferry subway Station in lower Manhattan was still under water 5
days after Hurricane Sandy hit New York City. Many of the walls were knocked down as the station filled with water.
November 6 2012. Brooklyn NY, USA: More than a week after Hurricane Sandy crippled mass transit in new York
City, most of the subway service is back online. The MTA is still struggling to get the G and L trains which connect
Brooklyn to Manhattan and Queens. Members of the MTA were working to lift a water pump out of the L train at
Bedford Avenue Tuesday afternoon after they had drained the tunnel of flood waters.
