These photos were taken in Louisiana and North Carolina in 2016 of reflections in standing water left in the wake of a 1000 year flooding event. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) determined that the storms that hit Louisiana were 1000 year floods. The agency's determinations are based on the chances of several factors coming together to cause a weather event. These flooded landscapes offer a glimpse of the changes that global warming will surely bring.
