Stephen Fry. British actor, writer and film & documentary maker

Recovering and rebuilding from a severe medical crisis and potential handicap moved
me towards meditation and yoga. As I immersed myself in this process of practice
and studies, I suppose it was the childlike curiosity and desire to meet the great
masters that led to the proposal of the project, “A Visual Journey Through Yoga”,
filmic in it’s manifestation. Ten years, thousands of frames, gobs of many and many
journeys later resulted in the book published by “my dream” publishing house:
Taschen.
During my career I chose not to do a monograph retrospective of my work and
history past. Yoga became the palette for a book and an adventure. The images are
simply my visual interpretation of yoga as it transits from classical lineage to “Yoga
in modern times”.
The book has it’s own life now. A film about the book and my journey in yoga is
almost complete and after all these years I still feel like a beginner trying to absorb,
and I remain in awe.
