In America 101 I’ve tried to assemble from 40 years of archives, shot
on and off assignment, a visual distillation of what defines and
represents us as Americans. It’s a totally subjective project seen
through my personal prism and does not purport to offer an objective
or definitive view of the United States. What follows is a sampling of
some of my favorite images, but to really experience America 101
thematically, it’s essential to look at the book in its entirety.
